Fire Protection Design Experience
Code Compliance Document Development
CFM Fire Modelling Experience
Demonstrated ability to work independently on complex projects.
Fire Protection Permitting Experience
Problem Solving and Analytical Thinking
Understanding complex fire code requirements and translating them into sound technical solutions
Continuous Learning, willingness to learn new tools and techniques
Responsibilities
Collaborating with stakeholders to understand fire code requirements and translating them into effective product design or permitting solutions.
Leveraging proficiency in fire protection engineering and practical application experience to focus on and solve issues.
Designing and implementing code compliance matrices to extract precise fire code requirements/solutions.
Identifying and addressing fire code deficiencies and local jurisdiction unique code requirements.
Support, develop, and conduct training to educate internal and external stakeholders, including Fire Departments teams, on proper first responder actions required for the successful resolution of a thermal event within an Array.
Participate in the engagement of technical issues management to streamline the understanding of the issue and its resolution.
Staying updated on industry code changes, trends, and technologies to continuously improve the fire safety of product deployments and contribute to overall company growth.
Provide backup and capacity to support expanding project pipelines, stricter regulatory requirements, and growing demands in permitting, testing, sales support, and new product development.
Drive testing initiatives, including large-scale deflagration/explosion tests and international certification efforts.
Technical sales support, including battery variant testing and customer-requested product evaluations.
Support permitting and compliance activities, including expert testimony and regulatory reviews.
Mentor junior engineers and provide leadership in project and product development.
Qualifications
Minimum of an undergraduate or master’s degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering experience with 10‑15 years of experience.
Strong fire modeling, AHJ code negotiation, and analytical capabilities.
Drive for getting things done and a “whatever it takes” attitude.
Forward thinking, high ownership, and diligent pursuit of problem resolution.
Ability to work cross‑functionally with multiple teams.
Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work within a fast‑changing, dynamic team.
