Job Overview This role is responsible for analyzing and designing solutions to meet business needs. It involves partnering with customers to understand their requirements and creating both functional and non‑functional specifications. As an application and data Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will advise and influence both business and technical partners throughout the entire product lifecycle, from development and testing to post‑implementation operations.

Essential Functions

Ensure business requirements are thorough, detailed, and concise, and document exceptions for management approval.

Create, review, and obtain sign‑off on Systems Analyst artifacts according to project management guidelines.

Provide application support, serve as the SME for relevant applications, and ensure product changes align with overall design and best practices.

Deliver weekly status updates, investigate and address customer issues, and expand risks as necessary.

Foster positive relationships, collaborate effectively with internal and external customers, and contribute to process‑improvement initiatives.

Provide detailed estimates for Systems Analyst activities and artifacts.

Qualifications

Education : Preferred bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Experience : 4+ years IT work experience focused on systems development and programming (required).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Advanced analytical skills: ability to analyze complex problems, think critically, and strategize creative solutions.

Interpersonal and communication skills: cultivate positive working relationships through effective team‑oriented communication and presentation skills.

Adaptability to technology: agility in adopting new tools and innovations and applying them to business needs.

Cross‑functional involvement: experience working on project teams in a cross‑functional environment.

Experience with current ERP software (Peoplesoft, Salesforce, SAP, etc.).

Preferred :

Up to one year of experience with BCBS or the health insurance industry.

Location We are only considering candidates in the Chicago, IL or Washington D.C. metro areas.

Compensation The posted salary range is the lowest to highest salary we believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the hiring range and this hiring range may also be modified in the future. A candidate’s position within the hiring range may be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual bonus incentive.
