Software Engineer
Scottsdale, AZ

Pay Estimated: $50-$57/Hour

Make the world’s most advanced SDA O&I/GMI even smarter by supporting the SDA team as a PWSA Enterprise Level Engineer. The Ground Management and Integration (GMI) program is part of the PWSA program. It continues the Ground Segment work underway on the Tranche 1 (T1) Operations and Integration (O&I) program.
Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer for the SDA GMI program, you will be an integral part of a cross‑functional team developing and deploying state‑of‑the‑art ground operational systems. Your work will directly contribute to the success and innovation of the program.
Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
2+ years of job‑related experience, or a Master's degree.
Preferred Experience
Programming and Scripting:
Proficiency in Python and Java
Strong understanding of API design, testing, development, and management
Familiarity with Scaled Agile methodology and best practices
DevOps and Continuous Integration:
Knowledge of DevOps principles, including CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, automation, configuration management, and infrastructure as code
Experience with AWS (AWS Solutions Architect preferred), Azure is a plus
Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes
Security:
Understanding of security best practices, risk, compliance, vulnerability management, encryption, PKI, incident response, auditing, and monitoring
Artifical Intelligence:
Experience with prompt engineering and AI tools to accelerate workloads
Tools
CI/CD and Development:
GitLab, Nexus Managed Artifacts, Ansible, Terragrunt, ArgoCD
VS Code, Maven
Cloud and Containerization:
AWS: EKS, EC2, Lambda, S3, EBS/EFS, VPC, DNS, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail
Kubernetes, Docker
Security Testing:
ACAS/Grype vulnerability scanning, SIEM (Splunk), Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
Version Control and Collaboration:
Git, Jira, Confluence

While on‑site, you will be a part of the SDA program located in Scottsdale, Arizona.
