About the Role:
We are looking for a highly self‑motivated, hands‑on Database Engineer to focus on our database infrastructure estate and tune database queries within our Enterprise Solutions division. Our team manages and optimizes enterprise‑scale database systems that support critical business operations across multiple cloud and on‑premises environments. Operating in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment, we value technical excellence, proactive problem‑solving, and continuous learning as we transform and harmonize our infrastructure into a unified platform. Responsibilities and Impact:
Administer and maintain SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL databases hosted on cloud platforms with 24/7 production support capabilities. Perform database installations, patching, upgrades, and configure high‑availability deployments including multi‑AZ configurations and read replicas. Tune SQL queries and stored procedures for optimal performance while implementing database partitioning, compression, and indexing strategies. Collaborate closely with developers to design optimized database schemas and support application teams in writing efficient queries and stored procedures. Conduct execution plan analysis and implement query optimizations using performance monitoring tools and insights platforms. Implement comprehensive security frameworks including encryption for data at rest and in transit, access controls, and compliance with organizational security standards. Basic Required Qualifications:
16+ years of experience as DBA managing SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL in enterprise environments. Strong expertise in SQL Server 2016/2019/2022, Oracle 12c/19c, PostgreSQL 12/13/14/15/16, and MySQL with advanced performance tuning capabilities. Hands‑on experience with cloud‑hosted databases and database migration tools and services. Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, PL/SQL/PGSQL, and advanced performance optimization techniques. Experience with cloud automation and infrastructure‑as‑code tools for database deployment and management. Strong understanding of database security, auditing, encryption best practices, and regulatory compliance frameworks. Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) and database‑specific languages (T‑SQL, PL/SQL, PGSQL). Experience with cloud database migration strategies and performance tuning best practices across major cloud platforms. Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with data warehousing platforms and modern analytics databases for large‑scale data processing. Knowledge of monitoring and alerting solutions for proactive database performance management and issue resolution. Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration for database deployment automation and change management. Professional certifications in database technologies or cloud platform database specializations. Compensation/Benefits Information:
Eligible for an annual incentive plan. Base salary ranges for this role start at $150,000 and are adjusted based on geographic location, experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. Right to Work Requirements:
