Psychiatrist – Ambulatory Services

Full‑time position at University Health Physicians (UHP), an academic group practice affiliated with the University of Missouri‑Kansas City School of Medicine and its major teaching facility, Truman Medical Centers/University Health (TMC/UH). The role is located at Lakewood Counseling Services in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

UHP is the physician group practice for UMKC and the primary group for Truman Medical Centers/University Health, a 547‑bed, not‑for‑profit health system renowned for its COVID care and testing leadership. Physicians at UHP typically have teaching responsibilities for residents and medical students.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric services in an outpatient setting.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team that includes psychologists, social workers, and therapists.
• Serve paid call on the consult liaison service or inpatient mental health unit.
• Teach psychiatry residents and medical students.
• Participate in hospital‑based committees.
• Deliver lectures to other medical specialties.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited medical school.
• Completed a residency in Psychiatry.
