Senior Data Engineer

for a distributed, dynamic agile team. This role involves designing, developing, analyzing, and testing innovative data warehouse reporting solutions. You will join an energetic Business Data Solutions Engineering team focused on delivering value to our Claims business partners. You will work collaboratively in an agile squad to design and build data pipelines and workflows, ingest, curate, and provision data workflows in a Cloud-based environment, and own responsibility for thorough end-to-end testing.

About the job:

Develop creative data-driven solutions with our ETL pipeline in an agile environment.

Analyze, develop, and execute data integration solutions, managing the information lifecycle needs of the organization.

Participate in and lead peer development and code reviews, focusing on test-driven development and CICD.

Design and build data provisioning workflows, schemas, data transformations, and integrations using ETL and API microservices.

Build data architecture and applications to enable reporting, analytics, data science, and improve data accessibility, efficiency, governance, and quality.

Focus on speed to market and build long-term strategic data solutions using AWS, Snowflake, SQL, Data Vault, and other modern technologies.

Create programs and tools for ingestion, curation, and provisioning of enterprise data.

Collaborate openly to create innovative technical solutions.

Continuously learn to stay updated on technology enablers.

Mentor junior developers.

Deploy and provision data solutions to production environments.

Analyze complex technical problems and recommend process improvements to enhance data reliability, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience, with 5+ years of Data Engineering experience.

- Experience developing backend data warehouse solutions.

- Experience integrating Guidewire systems with Snowflake via APIs and ETL tools.

- Knowledge of data platforms like Snowflake, Teradata, SQL, DB2 (cloud-based a plus).

- Experience with AWS (S3, Snowflake, Athena), Unix, Informatica, and strong SQL skills.

- Extensive IT concepts, strategies, methodologies knowledge.

- Experience working in agile environments with cross-functional teams.

- Leadership in optimizing CI/CD, testing frameworks, and practices.

- Proactive, initiative-driven, logical thinker.

- Strong collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

- Extensive knowledge of IT and business operations, strategies, and methodologies.

Additional Qualifications:

Experience with Java, Ruby, NoSQL, Python.

Understanding of Cloud / Hybrid data architecture.

Knowledge of insurance industry and products.

Enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
