The Director of Substance Use Recovery – Community Engagement provides strategic and operational leadership for Compass Health Network’s outpatient substance use treatment programs. This role oversees Adult and Adolescent CSTAR programming, Level III SUD services, and Drug and DWI Courts, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and person-centered care. The Director also leads the development and standardization of outpatient services across the continuum of care, strengthening community partnerships and extended engagement in recovery supports.
This candidate will direct community services for Jefferson City, Columbia, Warrenton, Troy, Wentzville, St. Charles SUD locations.

Key Responsibilities Oversee the quality, consistency, and continuity of outpatient substance use disorder services, including co-occurring treatment Provide leadership and operational oversight for all outpatient SUD staff, supporting performance, accountability, and professional growth Direct recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and training of staff in collaboration with outpatient SUD leadership Ensure programs meet all regulatory, contractual, and certification requirements, including DMH rules, CARF, and Division of Alcohol and Substance Abuse standards Lead program development and standardization across the outpatient continuum of care to enhance engagement and recovery outcomes Manage fiscal oversight, contracts, sub-contracts, and referral arrangements with community partners Strengthen coordination with courts, referral sources, and community agencies to support access and continuity of care Monitor program performance, staff attendance, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures Participate in agency and leadership meetings and contribute to strategic planning initiatives Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Master’s degree preferred (mental health field preferred)
WORK EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: At least three (3) years of related experience required At least one (1) year of supervisory experience required Specialized training in the treatment of substance use disorders required Valid driver’s license and agency-established minimum automobile insurance coverage required
