*Job Overview*
We are seeking an energetic and skilled Mammography Technologist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing mammography procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety while providing high-quality imaging services. This role requires a strong understanding of medical imaging techniques, anatomy, and physiology, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
*Duties*
* Perform mammography examinations in accordance with established protocols and standards. * Ensure the proper positioning of patients to obtain optimal images while minimizing discomfort. * Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. * Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss findings and assist in diagnostic evaluations. * Collect appropriate clinical history and correlate findings with the procedure being performed * Document patient information accurately including documentation of communication method, date and to whom findings were communicated * Provide education to patients regarding procedures, potential risks, and post-examination care. * Call patients with results when necessary * Collect samples for patient genetic testing * Schedule appointments when needed * Assist with ultrasound guided biopsies * Observe radiation safety procedures to safeguard against overexposure of patients and personnel to radiation * Respond to patient concerns in a timely and professional manner * Maintain, monitor and restock various medical supplies as needed * Perform quality assurance in accordance with FDA and MQSA guidelines * Perform Bone Density exams * Maintains compliance and accreditation with the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and the American College of Radiology (ACR) * Participates in annual Inspections and documentation requires by MQSA or ACR * Stay updated on advancements in diagnostic radiology and participate in continuous professional development. * Assist other departments/co workers as needed. * Adhere to company policies, protocols and to HIPAA and safety guidelines
*Qualifications*
* ARRT certification in Radiology * Certification in Mammography from an accredited program is required. * Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic imaging techniques. * Familiarity with various imaging modalities including MRI, Ultrasound, CT, DEXA, and X-ray. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with patients from diverse backgrounds. * Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently. * Previous experience in a clinical setting is an advantage; outpatient radiology facility experience is highly desirable.
