About Salesforce Salesforce
is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we’re looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.
Ready to level‑up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.
Overview of the Role We are seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer with DevOps to join a dynamic team of software, systems, and security engineers. This role involves developing robust Python services to automate complex workflows and integrate disparate systems, frequently leveraging AI/ML models for intelligent process optimization running on Salesforce’s cloud native stack. The role also involves working on enterprise‑scale infrastructure, focusing on resolving deployment challenges through software solutions. The ideal candidate will deliver high‑velocity and high‑quality infrastructure in public cloud environments, bringing a passion for innovative, automation‑first solutions that leverage cutting‑edge AI and traditional technical stacks.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain scalable Python services and APIs for system integration with internal Salesforce services and workflow automation, including LLM models to enhance system intelligence and efficiency.
Debug and resolve infrastructure and application failures in Kubernetes and cloud‑native environments.
Collaborate with internal teams for efficient iterations of automated CI/CD pipelines to maintain service owner feature velocity, troubleshoot, and reproduce issues reported in production environments.
Lead the design, development, and distribution of operator tooling, leveraging Salesforce’s robust CI/CD infrastructure.
Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and architects to transform manual processes into automated governance solutions—designing, implementing, testing, and delivering new features to enhance customer adoption while maintaining platform stability and scalability.
Interact with a highly innovative and creative team of developers, open‑source committers and architects across Salesforce.
Research and select the right tools for the job, and if they don’t exist create them.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of working experience with programming languages such as Python or Golang, with a strong preference for Python.
3+ years of hands‑on experience developing and maintaining DevOps processes—CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure builds using Infrastructure as Code, production operations and support, and automated testing.
3+ years of operating production Kubernetes deployments, with a deep understanding of platform concepts and core components.
2+ years of hands‑on experience building containerized workloads targeting Kubernetes environments.
2+ years of developing infrastructure and application security for highly sensitive customer data & environments (IAM, PKI, vulnerability management).
2+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code and configuration management technologies such as Terraform, Jinja2, Go templates, Ansible, etc.
2+ years of experience deploying with a CI/CD orchestration service such as Jenkins or Spinnaker.
1+ year of experience running code reviews and mentoring junior developers.
Experience working within and building cloud‑native services on AWS with a good understanding of tcp/ip networking protocols.
Experience leading and presenting engineering topics to non‑engineering and executive stakeholders; maintain and author system design documentation, diagrams, and related artifacts, and present them and roadmaps to senior leadership.
Team‑player with the ability to work effectively and efficiently with others; a self‑starter with strong self‑motivation.
A related technical degree is required.
U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) who does not hold dual citizenship and agrees to complete a U.S. federal government Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) for a Moderate Public Trust position.
Preferred Qualifications
Leveraging knowledge of AI & LLM infrastructure to improve stability and scalability of the application.
Experience with cloud‑based Kubernetes platforms such as EKS, GKE or similar.
Experience in any logging and monitoring stack such as Splunk, Grafana, Elastic Search, CloudWatch, Prometheus, etc.
Experience using telemetry and metrics to drive operational excellence and manage enterprise‑grade services and applications in production.
Leading the design and development of prototypes, maintaining high standards of quality with code base and maintaining detailed documentation.
Experience with API design and development and familiarity with microservices architecture and related design patterns.
Experience with automated test harnesses and frameworks, and authoring test suites for both unit and functional/integration tests that can be invoked within CI/CD pipelines.
Experience supporting development of security & compliance into pipelines (OPA, Chekov, Twistlock, Prisma, Casbin).
