The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, digital strategy, research support and management consulting. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. We look for talented and hard-working professionals who are committed to electing Democrats and winning the House majority.
Due to the cyclic nature of our organization, all positions are subject to separation at the end of the election cycle.
Position Summary The Campaigns Data Director will serve as the primary liaison for the Data Operations team and the committee’s Organizing and Voter Protection departments. This position will require a blend of technical skills and stakeholder management. With the support of the Data Operations and Analytics teams, this role will help develop the Organizing and Voter Protection data strategy by helping create and perfect helpful metrics and improve data processes by managing vendor relationships and refining data workflows.
Responsibilities
Act as the primary liaison on the Data Operations team for departments running voter outreach programs, such as the Organizing and Voter Protection departments
Help to scope voter outreach programs to ensure that teams have the reporting required to make key investment decisions and the tooling infrastructure to execute programs
Work across the DCCC to ensure accurate cross-department information sharing and transparency related to program status, tool access, and data support
Hire and manage a team of Regional Data Associates to facilitate tool set-up, data standards enforcement, and ad hoc data requests related to voter outreach
Administer outreach tools for departments running voter outreach programs (past vendors have included NGPVAN, PDI, Hustle, Scale to Win, Reach, and Mobilize)
Build and maintain relationships with DCCC organizing vendors; collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to develop and execute cycle roadmaps to ensure that outreach tools meet DCCC needs and are streamlined for voter contact and volunteer engagement
Attend regular cross-committee meetings with leadership from sister committees including the DNC and DSCC to help create common data standards for VAN usage
Create and enforce committee-wide data standards for voter outreach programs
Manage a data ticketing system for staff to ask questions and receive support related to campaigns data and tool administration
Supporting Voter Protection staff in ballot cure-related data management and reporting, as well as supporting LBJ, the DNC’s Voter Protection CRM
Manage VAN Targets for staff and work closely with Engineering and Analytics teams to make sure that voter contact universes are syncing across various outreach tools
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
2-3 cycles (4-6 years) of experience working on campaigns or with political data
Ability to translate technical information to non-technical audiences
Excellent stakeholder and vendor management abilities
Experience creating training materials and documentation
Extensive VAN experience, with at least one cycle in an administrative capacity
Experience working with texting, dialing and relational tools (examples include Scale to Win, Switchboard, Hustle, REACH, Mobilize)
Fluency with SQL; some experience with Python and R would be a plus
