Role Description The Major Gifts Officer is a full‑time, on‑site role based in Greater Boston. This position involves identifying, cultivating, and stewarding relationships with major donors and prospects to further the philanthropic goals of the Harvard Art Museums. Key responsibilities include coordinating with fundraising teams, developing and executing strategies for planned and annual giving, conducting prospect research, and engaging alumni and stakeholders to inspire ongoing support for the museums. The Major Gifts Officer will also collaborate with colleagues to align efforts with institutional priorities and objectives.
Qualifications
Experience and skills in Planned Giving and Annual Giving
Proficiency in Prospect Research and building effective donor pipelines
Strong understanding and knowledge of Philanthropy and fundraising principles
Proven ability to engage and maintain relationships in Alumni Relations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse groups of stakeholders
Proven track record in developing and implementing successful donor engagement strategies
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certification in a relevant field is a plus
Familiarity with the arts, higher education, and cultural institutions is desirable
Location: Newton Centre, MA (Greater Boston)
Salary: $110,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
