Overview
UC San Diego Health is a Magnet designated organization that provides outstanding nursing care and is consistently ranked among the top 50 cancer centers in the nation. The Breast Oncology Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Survivorship program invites a dedicated NP to conduct independent survivorship visits, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and provide patient, family, and staff education.
Responsibilities
Conduct independent survivorship visits and surveillance procedures in collaboration with attending oncologists.
Perform initial history, physical examination, and formulate appropriate plans of action for breast and medical oncology patients.
Provide patient/family education and support the revision of divisional policies and procedures.
Participate in clinical trials and research initiatives.
Maintain therapeutic relationships and manage a fast‑paced patient load.
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program.
California RN and NP licenses with certification in an aligned specialty.
National NP board certification.
Current ART certification, or BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications with a commitment to obtain ART within six months.
Minimum 6 months of NP experience and at least 2 years of RN or NP experience in an outpatient or breast oncology setting.
Proven ability to perform initial history, physical exam, and formulate appropriate plans of action.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to function in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant oncology certification.
Oncology survivorship experience.
Breast oncology experience.
Special Conditions
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
Position primarily based at Moores Cancer Center and McGrath Outpatient Pavilion.
Must obtain and maintain UCSD Medical Staff privileges during employment.
Employment subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical.
Clinical advanced practice experience within the last two years is required.
Current UCSD NPIII employees may be hired at the NPIII level pending review and approval.
Pay and Benefits Annual Full Pay Range: $167,687 – $234,649 (prorated if less than 100% appointment).
Hourly Equivalent: $80.31 – $112.38.
