As the Director of Global Thought Leadership, you will be a technology evangelist for Belden, responsible for seeing the whole picture of technologies and fostering our reputation as a technology leader. You will manage all thought leadership activities, providing executive decisions when needed and handling customer relations from a thought leadership perspective. This role is crucial for amplifying Belden's position as a technology leader through strategic events and communications. Remote work arrangements are available.
Responsibilities
Shape industry trends by publishing insights on emerging technologies, speaking at major conferences, and amplifying our voice through podcasts, webinars, and tech media.
Drive a culture of innovation internally by championing programs like hackathons, fostering cross‑functional collaboration, and leading high‑profile events such as the Belden Innovation Award.
Build strategic partnerships by engaging with startups, academia, and tech consortia, and establishing strong CTO/CIO relationships to provoke future innovation.
Represent Belden in key industry forums, advisory boards, and standards bodies to help shape policy and advocate for responsible technology deployment.
Define and measure the ROI of thought leadership by tracking engagement, brand perception, and the direct influence on innovation activities.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a technology evangelist, shaping industry trends through published content, public speaking, and strategic media engagement.
Demonstrated success building strategic partnerships with startups, academia, and tech consortia, and managing executive‑level (CTO/CIO) relationships.
Experience driving an internal culture of innovation by championing programs such as hackathons and fostering cross‑functional collaboration.
Familiarity with industry standards bodies and experience advocating for responsible technology deployment.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to define and measure the ROI of thought leadership initiatives, linking them to business outcomes.
Compensation & Benefits Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $160,000 - $200,000 annually, plus benefits and additional incentives based on the level of the role. Belden also offers hybrid and remote work practices where feasible.
