Full‑time position. Joining the Individual Rights & Social Justice Practice Group focused on immigrant legal services, human trafficking survivors, wage theft victims, and recent immigrants in Chicago.

Essential Responsibilities

Supervise staff attorneys, volunteers, and support staff; direct day‑to‑day program operations.

Assign, review, and provide guidance on supervised staff and volunteer case work to maintain equitable workloads.

Handle a limited caseload of direct legal services, taking responsibility for complex or sensitive cases.

Collaborate with Managing Attorney and Executive Director on hiring decisions, staff evaluation, and promotion/pay recommendations.

Participate in program planning and implementation of goals; ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements.

Maintain awareness of law or policy developments; lead public agency reform, court reform, legislative reform, affirmative litigation, and policy analysis activities.

Develop and maintain relationships with other LAS and MFS programs; collaborate with community partners and stakeholders.

Participate in public relations, including communication with agency programs, community partners, and government officials.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor and active Illinois Bar member OR admission in another state with eligibility for reciprocity in Illinois.

5+ years general law practice or 4+ years legal aid experience, including 2+ years directing mixed staff and one year handling EOIR cases unsupervised.

Experience with both affirmative and defensive immigration applications.

Preferred: experience with detained work and bilingual English/Spanish.

Salary Competitive salary commensurate with experience, in the range $80,000–$90,000.
