What to Expect
We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Program/ Project Manager to join our Factory Design & Construction Program Management Office (PMO). This position will be located in Fremont, CA. As part of the EPC group, this team is focused on designing, collaborating, and building the first home of Optimus while continue to support critical vehicle programs.
In this role, you will be asked to own and drive the full design and engineering efforts for construction and infrastructure development from concept to production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, construction, manufacturing and technical program management.
The role requires a highly organized mindset, a passion for driving multi-disciplinary projects, and an unparalleled ability to pull people together to make things happen. Our program schedules push the limits of what is physically possible. This requires you to be extremely detail oriented, identify real hard barriers and drive the cross-functional teams to execute quickly at high quality. You will drive collaboration between Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing and Production to ensure our team's goals are aligned with company priorities. You will work to understand the opportunities and challenges of each project, translate scattered information into a concise and complete message, document and communicate to every team member. You will aim to make our team efficient and effective while reducing ambiguity from Tesla's plans. What You'll Do
Project Ownership: Lead the complete design and engineering process for construction and infrastructure projects from concept to production, aligning with Tesla's goals and the Fremont Factory master plan
Technical Planning & Execution: Deeply understand stakeholder requirements, translate them into project scopes, and manage planning, design, and engineering during construction
Reporting & Communication: Synthesize project status, risks, and opportunities, delivering clear reports to all levels of Tesla management
Resource & Funding Management: Identify resource needs, address gaps, and oversee project funding requests across multiple stages and sites
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build strong relationships with various teams to ensure program alignment and transform complex information into actionable scopes of work
Innovative Methodologies: Apply lean construction, BIM, and innovative design approaches to meet aggressive schedules and support critical business decisions
Compliance & Problem-Solving: Mitigate risks, ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and solve complex problems with objective thinking and agility
What You'll Bring
Degree in Engineering, Design, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience
5-10 years of relevant experience in building and manufacturing facilities design and construction. Engineering experience on industrial projects from concept to delivery
Advanced project management skills, demonstrated application of project and program management fundamentals to complex engineering problems
Excellent communication and documentation skills with ability to understand complex problems and distill the message into a clear plan
Positive, enthusiastic, fast learner, can-do mindset and passionate about manufacturing infrastructure
Thrives under pressure and in ambiguous environment. Ability to work long hours, evenings and weekends as needed by the projects
Software systems and packages including Aconex, Oracle Unifer, Bluebeam, CAD, and other construction packages. Advanced Oracle Primavera P6 experience

Expected Compensation $124,000 - $186,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
