Job Responsibilities
Receives or initiates call to deceased next of kin; exhibits concern and empathy, confirms relevant contact information, briefly discusses needs, schedules an Arrangement appointment, and emails confirmation.
May perform removals or transfers adhering to company standards; cares for deceased respectfully and updates removal status in proprietary software.
Greets next of kin, escorts them to a meeting space, initiates and facilitates the Arrangement Conference, assesses needs, summarizes desired outcomes, and discusses available life‑insurance and benefits.
Transitions the Arrangement Conference to the Funeral Services Counselor/Advisor to present cemetery, merchandise, and contract options; may assume FSA/FSC responsibilities if absent.
Reviews and authorizes merchandise and service contract revisions.
Directing Services
Confirms authorization to proceed with service arrangements and presides as Master of Ceremonies for visitation, funeral, or graveside services in a professional, organized, and caring manner consistent with Company standards.
Visually inspects deceased, adjusts casket dressing, attire, or makeup, and communicates concerns to preparation staff. Inspects services arrangements against contractual agreements and initiates corrective action as appropriate.
Interacts with the family to fulfill death‑care requests and obtains leads for pre‑need services.
Event Planning
Performs event‑planning responsibilities such as resource planning, ordering music, flowers, catering, and producing memorial products (photos, obituaries, online memorials).
Pre‑event: prepares event rooms (chairs, tables, flowers, guest books, décor). Post‑event: cleans, stores items, repairs property, and delivers family memorabilia to home.
May perform attendant duties such as parking lot attendant, driver, usher, pallbearer, or courier.
May attend community or charity events to represent and promote the organization.
General
Works under general guidance, applying licensure to a business environment and complying with regulations, policies, and procedures.
Carries out peer reviews for accuracy and quality; collaborates with peers or manager for assistance; exhibits accountability for behaviors and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Communicates assignments, priorities, and deadlines; seeks guidance from management; volunteers for additional work; adapts to new work structures and processes; accepts additional responsibilities as requested.
Minimum Requirements Education & Licenses
Graduated from an accredited school or college of mortuary science.
Current Funeral Director license within the practicing state.
Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required to operate company‑owned vehicles.
Experience
Industry experience is preferred.

Postures – Frequent continuous periods of sitting or standing up to 6 hours per day; frequent stair climbing.
Physical Demands – Manual dexterity required; includes paperwork, calculators, computers, and phone usage.
Ability to push and pull up to 150 pounds on flat and inclined flooring or ramps.
Hours – Flexibility may be required as services may occur outside normal business hours; nights and weekends are frequently necessary.
Pay $32.80 - $44.20
