The anticipated salary range for this role is between $85,000.00 and $125,000.00, with additional eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award and a competitive benefits portfolio.

Description Part of a HRBP pool, this role supports various business units with strategic HR initiatives. It collaborates with Senior Human Resources Business Partners to drive objectives, enhance employee engagement, and provide best‑in‑class HR support. The role plays a vital part in enabling business growth during annual HR processes and offers exposure to different departments and projects for career growth.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting Sr HRBPs in implementing people strategies aligned with business objectives.

Assisting in performance management and talent initiatives.

Assisting with employee relations such as issuing discipline and managing performance.

Partnering with Sr HRBPs to support workforce planning, organizational design and change management.

Analyzing HR data and trends to offer insights that drive decision‑making.

Facilitating employee engagement and inclusion initiatives, year‑end compensation planning, and reduction in force (RIF).

Addressing HR operational requests such as employee and manager inquiries and process off‑boarding.

Coaching managers and employees on navigating conversations around performance feedback, compensation & rewards, career development, conflict resolution, and change management.

Ensuring compliance with employment laws and internal HR policies.

Collaborating with HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) such as Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Talent Management, and HR Operations to deliver integrated HR solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.

5+ years of HR experience, preferably in a HR business partner or generalist capacity.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across teams.

Solid understanding of HR principles, labor laws, and best practices.

Ability to analyze HR data and provide actionable insights.

Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Adaptability to work on multiple projects within different business areas.

Additional Requirements SMBC’s employees participate in a hybrid workforce model that provides the opportunity to work from home, as well as from an SMBC office.
