Job Summary
Our client is a well-established organization operating within a complex, enterprise IT environment and is seeking a System Administrator to support and enhance its server infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of core systems across the organization. The ideal candidate brings hands‑on experience with Windows Server environments, virtualization, backup and recovery, and server lifecycle management, with the ability to build, deploy, and support both physical and virtual systems. Key Responsibilities
Administer, monitor, and maintain Windows Server environments, with limited exposure to Linux systems as needed Perform operating system upgrades, patching, and proactive maintenance to ensure system stability and compliance Support Windows Failover Clustering and multiple Remote Desktop Services (RDS) environments to ensure high availability and performance Manage and maintain enterprise backup and recovery solutions, including Veeam Backup & Replication or equivalent tools Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and related identity and access management services Track and manage Microsoft licensing compliance and renewals Oversee server hardware lifecycle activities, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning Partner with internal technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues Create and maintain technical documentation, configurations, and standard operating procedures Uphold strong security practices and ensure adherence to internal IT policies and standards Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience 3 to 5 years of experience in system administration within a medium to large enterprise environment Strong hands‑on experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, and newer versions Working knowledge of Hyper‑V, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, and Group Policy Experience supporting enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions Familiarity with Windows Failover Clustering and Remote Desktop Services environments Experience managing server hardware lifecycles and asset inventories Understanding of Microsoft licensing models and compliance considerations Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on documentation We champion equality and inclusivity, proudly supporting an Equal Opportunity Employer policy.
