Job Title:
Lead Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist – Direct Hire (DH)
Location:
Full Time | Day Shift
Schedule:
Monday–Friday; varied shifts (7a–5p, 8a–6p, 9a–7p, 10a–8p) with off-hours, weekend/holiday, and on-call rotation
Salary Range:
$84,663 – $124,557 per annum

Position Summary The Lead Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist plays a key clinical and leadership role within the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Under the direction of Invasive Cardiologists and the Nurse Manager, this individual ensures smooth daily operations, supports high-quality procedures, and maintains compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. This role provides hands‑on clinical expertise during complex invasive cardiac and EP procedures while serving as a mentor and preceptor for the team.
Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations
Oversee daily workflow, room assignments, and staffing coordination.
Support schedule adjustments and staff coverage during high‑volume or emergency periods.
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance feedback.
Provide mentorship, training, and clinical support to team members.
Lead and participate in daily huddles and operational meetings.
Communicate and implement departmental initiatives and new protocols.
Clinical & Technical Expertise
Serve as lead specialist for complex Cath and EP procedures (interventions, ablations, device implants).
Operate and troubleshoot advanced imaging/monitoring equipment (IVUS, ICE, FFR/IFR, mapping systems, RF generators, etc.).
Maintain sterile technique, proper room setup, and efficient turnover.
Anticipate equipment, supply, and clinical needs to support procedural flow.
Ensure compliance with infection control, radiation safety, and patient monitoring standards.
Quality, Compliance & Equipment Oversight
Manage equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and service requests.
Participate in accreditation readiness, audits, incident reporting, and quality improvement initiatives.
Assist with policy and procedure development.
Oversee inventory, including high‑cost devices and consignment stock.
Coordinate vendor education, product evaluations, and equipment trials.
Ensure accurate documentation for procedures, supplies, and billing.
Support charge audits and reconciliation for revenue integrity.
Patient Care & Professionalism
Deliver safe, compassionate, patient‑centered care during all phases of procedures.
Demonstrate strong leadership presence and professionalism in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment.
Qualifications
Graduate of a health science program (cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, nursing, paramedic/EMT, etc.).
Completion of scrub technician or hospital‑based training program.
Minimum
5 years
of scrub technician or cardiac technician experience preferred.
BLS & ACLS certifications required.
RCIS or RCES certification required.
Strong clinical judgment and ability to learn/apply advanced invasive cardiology concepts.
