Mission for Position At Lakewood Health System, our Team's mission is to provide quality, personalized anesthesia care to every patient who walks through our doors. As a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) in our Critical Access Hospital, your mission is to uphold the highest standards of clinical excellence, safety, and patient-centered care.

Position Summary You will play a pivotal role in our healthcare team, collaborating closely with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Your responsibilities will include assessing patients, developing individualized anesthesia care plans, administering anesthesia, and monitoring patients throughout surgical procedures.

Position Type

Full-time + 1:5 Call

As part of our supportive anesthesia team, you'll participate in a shared call rotation to ensure we're always able to provide the highest level of patient care. Our team works closely together to create balanced schedules, with flexibility and teamwork at the heart of how we manage on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

Graduate of a School of Anesthesia accredited by the AANA (American Association of Nurse Anesthetists) Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs.

Currently licensed by the State of Minnesota as a Registered Nurse. Currently certified by the Council on Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists.

Three to five years of anesthesia experience preferred.

Must be current in Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support.

Ideal Candidate

Demonstrates proficiency in administering anesthesia and managing patients throughout the perioperative period, including preoperative assessment, intraoperative care, and post-anesthesia recovery.

Ability to quickly assess and adapt to changing patient conditions, anticipate potential complications, and make sound clinical decisions in high-pressure situations.

Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, communicating clearly and professionally with surgeons, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated patient care.

Shows empathy and compassion towards patients, providing emotional support and reassurance throughout the anesthesia process and addressing their individual needs with sensitivity and respect.

Pays meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of anesthesia care, including medication administration, patient monitoring, and documentation, to ensure patient safety and procedural accuracy.

Able to adapt to the unique challenges and demands of a Critical Access Hospital environment, including managing a diverse caseload, working variable shifts, and responding effectively to emergent situations.

Prioritizes patient safety above all else, adhering to established protocols, guidelines, and best practices for anesthesia administration, infection control, and medication management.

Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing professional development and lifelong learning, staying abreast of advancements in anesthesia practice, technology, and evidence-based research to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Upholds the highest standards in all professional interactions, maintaining patient confidentiality, respecting autonomy and informed consent, and adhering to ethical principles of nursing and anesthesia practice.

Exhibits leadership qualities such as initiative, accountability, and integrity, serving as a positive role model for colleagues and contributing to a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the anesthesia team and the broader healthcare organization.
