Duties This Paralegal Specialist (Appeals) provides substantive legal support to Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) in a variety of specialized litigative activities related to civil and/or criminal appeals. If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing Paralegal Specialist (Appeals) support in the U.S. Attorney's Office, District of Columbia, located in Washington, District of Columbia, focusing in the areas of appeals; legal writing; evidence and discover; and case support. Typical work assignments will include: substantive legal writing for appellate briefs, reviewing evidence for appellate preparation, assisting with discovery in appellate cases, and providing case support for the team.
Requirements
You must be a United States Citizen or National to apply for this position.

All Federal employees are required to have Federal salary payments made by direct deposit to a financial institution of their choosing.
You must successfully pass a background investigation. This may include a credit check, a review of financial issues, as well as certain criminal offenses and illegal use or possession of drugs.
A probationary period may be required.
A pre-employment drug test will be required.
