System Configuration Management Administrator Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA)

Overview Support enterprise-wide desktop, server, and endpoint configuration operations using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), BigFix, and Intune in a 24x7x365 environment.

Responsibilities

Package, test, update, and deploy latest versions of applications using WMATA configuration management technologies.

Implement desktop and endpoint image management and deployment.

Develop scripts in industry-standard environments for desktop and server configuration and operations management.

Ensure base images are kept up to date with necessary patches and cybersecurity standards.

Maintain hardware and software inventory and ensure licensing compliance.

Deliver security patches and system updates to data center environments.

Apply industry best practices and optimize configuration management tools.

Plan for and recommend upgrades of WMATA configuration management technologies.

Work with Service Delivery and Operations support staff.

Analyze, isolate, and resolve customer issues and perform proactive monitoring, configuration management, and fault resolution.

Assist customers with desktop configuration issues and use ticketing system to manage work.

Develop protocols and procedures for managing system configuration.

Support hardware installation and configuration; configure and manage network resources access for all endpoint devices.

Provide recommendations for technology infusion and enterprise configuration management upgrades.

Assist customers with enterprise system related needs; act as backup for peer technical staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.

High school diploma with an additional four (4) years of experience with the latest versions of Microsoft, BigFix, Intune, and/or equivalent technologies.

Experience designing and upgrading several technologies used to create, manage, update, monitor, and report on Windows configurations.

Solid experience with Windows operating systems.

Hands‑on experience with desktop imaging, software deployment, and inventory management.
