Commercial Litigation Associate
A growing Houston-based practice is seeking a Texas‑licensed attorney with 7+ years of experience in business and commercial litigation. This role involves managing cases from start to finish, supporting senior attorneys, and handling an individual docket.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct legal research and analysis
Draft pleadings and motions
Manage discovery and prepare for depositions
Take depositions and represent clients in court and mediations
Identify and develop expert witnesses
Prepare for trial and participate in trial proceedings
Communicate with clients and client representatives
Collaborate with colleagues and support staff for effective matter management
Assist with practice group and individual business development planning
Ensure accurate fee tracking and compliance with billing guidelines
Education & Experience
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Minimum of 7 years as a licensed attorney
Qualifications
Active license to practice law in Texas
Strong negotiation, drafting, research, and analytical skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
Ability to develop effective strategies and identify key legal issues
Creative problem‑solving, sound judgment, and integrity
Flexibility under pressure with strong prioritization skills Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
