AmeriCorps
Overview
NPower is a nonprofit that opens doors for people who want to build a career in technology but may not know where to start. We offer free tech training, career coaching, and support that helps adults, veterans, and military-connected individuals enter the tech industry with confidence. Our programs are hands‑on, supportive, and focused on helping people gain real skills that lead to real jobs. As a Community Outreach Specialist VISTA, you’ll play a key role in connecting NPower to the communities we serve. You won’t be teaching technology—you’ll be helping more people discover that these opportunities exist. You’ll build relationships, spark interest, and help create pathways for future students who could benefit from our training. Responsibilities
In this role, you will: Meet with potential partners like nonprofits, veteran‑serving groups, community centers, and workforce agencies. Share NPower opportunities at events, presentations, and community gatherings. Support alumni ambassadors who are excited to share how NPower changed their lives. Coordinate referral efforts so community partners can easily connect potential students to our programs. Use tools like Salesforce to track outreach and make sure great ideas and partnerships don’t get lost. Create resources, templates, and best practices that help future outreach work thrive long after your year of service. Member Duties
