Responsibilities
Manage all facets of the Preparing and Retaining Educators through Partnership Program Allotment (PREP Mentorship Program) funded through the Texas Education Agency LASO Cycle 4 application process.
Develop and manage strategic and operational plans needed to ensure the Dallas ISD Teacher Mentor program is advancing related to evolving needs of new and novice educators; identify gaps and develop solutions to enable solid execution.
Prepare reports and provide information to executive leadership including all components related to program evaluation and Return on Investment initiative. Review and monitor data reporting to create program advancements or improvements.
Actively review, remain updated, and implement requirements aligned with Texas Education Code Sec. 21.458. MENTORS. and continuously evaluate the program effectiveness and alignment with Texas Education Agency guidelines teacher mentoring and research-based best practices. Implement state changes in a strategic manner at the local level.
Develop and manage a recruitment and selection process of mentor teachers for the PREP Program and Dallas ISD Teacher Mentor Program and ensure all components are implemented with fidelity. Create compelling messages to express the brand through all written materials, web, social media, and presentations. Build content aligned to messages for web and social media to be deployed throughout the year.
Partner with the Dallas ISD Strategic Pipelines team to oversee the implementation of all required elements in the Dallas ISD Alternative Certification program and Teacher Resident Model as relates to teacher mentors to ensure all mentor teacher and new/novice teacher pairing records are 100% accurate and error-free and in alignment with Texas Education Code (TEC) Chapter 21.
Develop, deliver, and expand the annual portfolio of trainings for mentor teachers aligned to evolving needs of new and novice teachers as well as to the development of mentor teachers’ leadership capacity and career goals.
Prepare reports and planning documents requiring technical precision, accuracy, readability and editorial correctness, and develop systems based on management by objective and results including but not limited to stipend and survey reporting and new/novice teacher retention.
Manage the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Central Staff Leadership Development Program (CSLDP) for new leaders across departments, ensuring all CSLDP programming is aligned with district leadership competencies and employee experience goals.
Manage development of CSLDP session content with District departments; manage CSLDP participation tracking and gathering feedback to inform programmatic adjustments.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in a directly related field; Master's degree preferred.
Valid Texas Teacher Certificate with required endorsements for subject and subject level assigned preferred.
Five years of education experience, preferably in an urban setting; prior supervisory experience preferred.
Able to manage multiple projects and task simultaneously.
Able to manage large-scale projects.Strong organizational and project management skills, including keep attention to detail and the ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
Aptitude to clearly articulate the interest of the district, state, and national forums.
Ability to proactively identify challenges and work to find solutions.
Outstanding interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Ability to adjust course as needed by Human Capital Management, Employee Experience.
Ability to perform and deliver fast, focused, friendly, and flexible customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to work with a wide diversity of individuals and work with data of varied types and/or purposes.
