Medical Director, Pediatric Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Imaging (MD/DO)
Location: Fairfax Medical Campus, Full time.
Job Description The Division of Pediatric Cardiology at Inova LJ Murphy Children’s Hospital is seeking a full‑time Pediatric Cardiologist to serve as Medical Director of Non‑Invasive Cardiovascular Imaging to support our rapidly growing team within Inova Children’s Heart Center. The Heart Center has been caring for children in Northern Virginia and the Greater Washington Region for more than 30 years, performing approximately 550 procedures annually. The program includes surgical repair of complex congenital heart defects, a lifetime of care as part of the Inova Schar Heart and Vascular, and a comprehensive team of pediatric cardiologists, intensivists, surgeons, and advanced practice providers. The Non‑Invasive Imaging Lab, accredited by ICAEL, is the largest program in Virginia, performing 11,000 outpatient and 2,600 inpatient echocardiograms per year.

Job Responsibilities
Support and mentor junior and mid‑career pediatric cardiology echo attendings within the Pediatric Heart Center.
Support and mentor ultrasound technicians within the Pediatric Heart Center.
Bring advanced training in non‑invasive imaging together with professional, clinical, and leadership skills.
Work with the Chief of Pediatric Cardiology and Inova Children’s Heart Center leadership to execute yearly personal and programmatic goals focused on safety, quality, patient experience, access, and stewardship.
Be a team player in an environment that values collaboration and dedication to patients, families, and colleagues.
Encourage and support education and research with access to dedicated research professionals.
Direct non‑invasive imaging operations for the Pediatric Heart Center.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution; board eligible or certified in Pediatric/Constituted Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship.
Experience:
Successful completion of physician residency and Pediatric/Constituted Advanced Cardiac Imaging Fellowship.
Certification:
Board eligible or board certified in Pediatric Cardiology.
Licensure:
Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
Payer Credentialing:
Successful completion of credentialing with third‑party payors and enrollment as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payer.
Medical Staff Credentialing:
Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges for all required services.
Preferred Qualifications
Extensive experience (5+ years) in echocardiography (TTE, TEE, strain analysis and 3D imaging).
Experience at higher‑volume centers and demonstrated leadership in imaging.
Prior experience or education in medical administration with clinical research experience.
