About Us:
The Lafayette Company is a boutique political communications firm based in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. We specialize in providing strategic communication services to a diverse range of clients, with a focus on center‑right and conservative policy and political communities. We are currently seeking a highly skilled full‑time Director of Media Relations to join our growing team.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and execute strategic media relations campaigns for corporate, policy, nonprofit and political clients
Organize major media events and secure high‑profile placements
Build lasting relationships with reporters, editors, producers and bookers
Pitch op‑eds and coordinate media interviews
Qualifications and Experience:
5+ years of national media relations experience
Strong/current broadcast relationships
Strong ties to center‑right/conservative policy communities
Exceptional writer with proven placement success
Self‑starter who thrives both independently and collaboratively
Background in Capitol Hill, campaigns, think tanks, PACs, or nonprofits
Willing to work in‑person with team in Old Town office with periodic travel
Salary and Benefits:
