Program Director-Housing

We are seeking an experienced Program Director to lead and oversee a dynamic team supporting Veterans who have experienced unsheltered homelessness and are now transitioning into permanent housing. This is a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of services, training, and advocacy to help Veterans regain stability and independence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision: Manage the Lead Case Manager, Case Managers, and other program staff. Provide guidance through probationary and annual evaluations, monthly case reviews, and crisis management when needed.
Program Coordination: Oversee client referrals, monitor program census, and ensure the implementation of policies and procedures. Actively engage with the team to ensure high-quality service delivery.
Staff Development: Facilitate ongoing staff training and professional development, ensuring that the team is equipped with the tools they need to support clients effectively.
Community Outreach & Advocacy: Represent the program in the absence of the Director of Supportive Services. Develop relationships with external organizations, agencies, and local stakeholders to share resources and advocate for homeless Veterans.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation and provide accurate reporting on client services, team performance, and program activities. Ensure all required paperwork is submitted in a timely manner.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Supportive Housing & Services and Property Manager on any building or facility-related concerns. Participate in administrative team meetings and address follow-up actions as needed.
Core Responsibilities Include
Implementing and enforcing program policies and procedures to ensure high standards of service.
Fostering a trauma-sensitive and non-violent culture within the program by using proven tools like community meetings, psycho-educational groups, and team discussions.
Modeling the organization’s values of empathy, respect, and dignity in all client interactions.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of experience in program supervision and administration.
LMSW in Social Work or a related field (MSW acceptable).
Strong leadership skills with experience motivating and guiding teams.
Highly organized with an eye for detail.
Ability to manage time and resources effectively, with a focus on problem-solving and critical thinking.
Experience working with homeless Veterans and understanding of relevant city/state/government policies.
Experience with electronic health records (AWARDS or similar) preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Suite (or equivalent).
Pre-employment screening including a background check is required.
The pay range for this position is $85K-$95K and it is on-site in North Charleston.
