Who We Are
Golden Queen Mining Co., LLC (the "Company") operates a gold and silver, open pit, heap leach operation on its Soledad Mountain property, located just outside the town of Mojave in Kern County in southern California. The Project uses conventional open pit mining methods and the cyanide heap leach and Merrill-Crowe processes to recover gold and silver from crushed, agglomerated ore.

You build trust easily, support employees and managers through challenges, and partner closely with Corporate HR and site leadership to create a safe, respectful, and positive workplace where employees feel valued and supported.
This is a safety sensitive position. As the Human Resources Manager, you report to the General Manager.
What You Do
- Collaborates and partners with Corporate HR to develop policies, programs and procedures, and implements corporate initiatives at the mine site. Responsible for the mine sites human resources policies, objectives, and initiatives.
- Implements an end-to-end human resources function to deliver talent acquisition, employee onboarding and other training, payroll, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and employee support services. Coordinate with leadership teams to assess staffing needs, manage headcount, and drive HR talent initiatives that optimize operational efficiency.
- Partners with leadership across the mine site to provide human resources programs aligned with the organization's operational objectives, mission, and values.
- Talent Acquisition, oversee full-cycle recruitment processes, ensuring the hiring of top-tier talent for all operational field-based roles. Develop talent pipelines to meet long-term business objectives.
- Employee Engagement, develop programs that promote employee well-being, satisfaction, and retention, including team-building activities, rewards, and recognition initiatives, in conjunction with the Andean Corporate HR. Develop processes and programs to support retention initiatives and develop an engaged workforce.
- Act as a trusted advisor, confidant and mediator for employees and management, handling employee complaints, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and promoting a positive company culture.
- Act as the leadership example, that Andean wants all leaders to emulate at Golden Queen, including, effective communication, integrity, adaptability, accountability, resilience, confidence, empathy, building and nurturing relationships, servant leadership – putting the needs of others first.
- Lead performance review systems, setting clear expectations, providing coaching to managers, and identifying training and development needs to enhance employee performance.
- In conjunction with Andean Corporate HR, manage compensation structures, including salary reviews, benefits administration, and incentives, ensuring competitiveness within the industry while maintaining internal equity and within budget. Ensure all compensation and benefit programs are communicated to all employees, and well understood, to demonstrate the value of our compensation offerings.
- Ensure adherence to California labor laws, and mining industry-specific regulations.
- In conjunction with Corporate HR, design and implement training programs, including leadership development, new hire orientation and skills enhancement for employees at all levels.
- Supervise human resources and payroll staff.
- Build and develop resources and processes to facilitate regulatory compliance, recordkeeping, transaction processing, and analysis of workforce metrics.
- Identify and explore trends in human resources to enhance employee experience, meet evolving organizational needs, and create innovative programs to create a culture of respect, collaboration, accountability and trust.

What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, a Master's or HR certification is a plus.
- PHRca, PHR, or SHRM certification preferred or working towards it.
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Human Resources management, preferably in the mining, energy, or industrial sectors.
- Proven experience in managing employee relations, labor relations, and performance management in a large, diverse workforce.
- Strong knowledge of California labor laws, HR compliance, and regulations specific to the mining industry.
- Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information System) and payroll software.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization. Ability to build credibility and trust with others.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience working in a remote location or challenging environments, in an industrial environment.
