Janitor Job at Visual Comfort & Co. in Houston

The Janitor is chiefly responsible for maintaining general building upkeep within a warehouse and office environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform standard janitorial duties including dusting, detailing, vacuuming, sanitizing and cleaning restrooms, common areas and kitchen
• Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested
• Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them
• Gather and empty trash
• Service, clean, and supply restrooms
• Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges and squeegees
• Mix water and detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to specifications
• Notify managers concerning the need for the major repairs or additions to building operating systems
• Request supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED is required
• One year of janitorial/custodial experience
• Work independently, with minimal supervision
• May need to lift up to 50 lbs.

Compensation: $16.50 per hour
