Sr Quality Engineering Manager, Amazon Leo Customer Terminals
Amazon LEO is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low‑Earth orbit. Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world and to close the digital divide for consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations lacking reliable connectivity.
We're seeking an exceptional Quality Engineering Leader who will drive innovation and excellence in aviation terminal production. In this pivotal role, you'll be the strategic architect of quality management, solving complex technical challenges and ensuring manufacturing precision that meets the highest aviation standards. You will be directly responsible for the production process development, introduction, and production of the aircraft unit, a phased‑array based antenna that closes the link to carry aircraft data to and from a Leo satellite. You may also be responsible for quality control for the aircraft certification of structural changes and additions needed to install the antenna system that must be approved by the certifying authority (FAA/EASA) – commonly referred to as the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC).
Orchestrate comprehensive quality management system processes for aviation terminal production
Lead and mentor quality inspection teams to implement proactive quality assurance strategies
Develop and implement advanced quality control methodologies
Guide continuous improvement initiatives using statistical process control techniques
Facilitate root‑cause investigations and corrective action implementations in coordination with the respective engineering teams
Manage complex quality containment activities
Support operations through strategic problem‑solving and technical leadership
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
A day in the life
Your day will be a dynamic blend of technical problem‑solving, cross‑functional collaboration, and strategic quality improvement. Expect to leverage your expertise in creating robust quality systems that transform potential challenges into opportunities for continuous improvement.
