Position Summary/ Department Summary:
Physician Assistant Or Nurse Practitioner,Orthopedic Oncology Team
Key Responsibilities: Comprehensive care of subspecialty Orthopedic Oncology team patients as well as trauma/fracture patients.
Treating new and established patients, interpretation of diagnostic imaging, pre-op and post-op appointments, and coordination of care.
Managing acute and chronic orthopedic conditions that span infant to young adult age groups.
Will require some cross coverage at Dana Farber Cancer Institute
Working four 10-hour shifts per week with built in administrative time- Clinic coverage would be primarily at Main Boston location, with potential travel to satellites
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Master?s Degree from a Physician Assistant program or a Master?s Degree in Nursing
Experience: Previous experience as a PA/NP in pediatrics, orthopedics or oncology is preferred
A strong desire to work in the pediatric orthopedic setting.
Ability to work in collaboration with orthopedic surgeons, nurses, Advanced Practice Clinicians (APC) and ambulatory staff is essential.
Analytical skills to resolve highly complex problems requiring the application of clinical, scientific, or technical principles, theories and concepts and in-depth, cross-functional experience-based knowledge.
Communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, and well-developed writing skills.
Licensure/ Certifications: A current license from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse PNP or FNP or as a Physician Assistant
**Sign-on bonus of $5,000.00 for fulltime (40 hours) NP hires (who have not worked at BCH in the past 2 years.)
