Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants and PM&R Physicians
to consult in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation for skilled nursing residents in both the sub-acute rehab and long-term care units. PM&R (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) and Physiatry
is a branch of medicine that aims to enhance and restore functional ability and quality of life to those with physical impairments and disabilities, with a focus typically on the neuromusculoskeletal system . NP Physiatry Clinicians work closely with the post-acute rehab therapy team
to optimize rehabilitative outcomes and promote patient independence. The Nurse Practitioners will also establish and build strong working relationships with administrators and staff throughout their designated facility. This position involves treating patients exclusively at designated
Skilled Nursing Facilities
(SNF). You will learn: · To be
part of a comprehensive rehabilitation team · You will
gain experience and expertise
in consulting on patients
with neurological and musculoskeletal pathologies ·
You are never alone in practice , our board certified physiatry and pain physicians are constantly monitoring,
training
and supervising your work Responsibilities : Provide specialized Physiatry/PM&R services as a rehabilitation consultant Manage conditions common in SNFs such as CVA, progressive neurological conditions, and postoperative orthopedic surgeries Manage conditions common in facility through strong clinical leadership and collaboration Work alongside your PT, OT, and SLP teams to improve patient function and quality of life Assess and manage barriers to therapy including joint or neuropathic pain, spasticity, neurogenic bowel, neurogenic bladder, and much more! Become an integral part of the SNF team by bridging the gap between therapy and internal medicine Engage in
bi-weekly didactic lectures and chart reviews
with your peers and supervising physicians, supervising physicians are available throughout the work day and are actively involved in case management.
You are never alone! Qualifications : Licensed Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Associate or Physiatrist licensed in NYS All required hours to match your professsional license, NPI #, and ability to bill both Medicaid and Medicare system with no restrictions. DEA certification NY Experience working with Microsoft Office preferred and working in electronic documentation EHR platforms (training provided if needed).
