The

Acute Care Procedure Team

is seeking a current

Advanced Practice Provider

(APP) with at least three years of clinical experience in either Interventional Radiology, Emergency medicine, Critical Care, and/or a Surgery setting.

The ideal APP candidate should have experience independently assessing and managing patients with changes in hemodynamic status, as well as the ability to recognize and manage emergent rapid clinical decline in patients.

Suturing skills also preferred. No new grads please.

The APP should possess strong teamwork skills, self-leading, self-motivated, goal oriented, change agile, and works well with leadership.

Please note:

APRNs must have Acute Care and First Assist Certification

Shift: 7:30am - 6:00pm, (4) 10 hour rotating shifts, Monday - Sunday.

You may be required to stay late in order to finish procedures for the day.

Key Functions

Provides invasive procedures including, but not limited to central line placement (internal jugular, subclavian, femoral), thoracentesis, paracentesis, portacath removal, and tunneled catheter removal following existing policy and procedure.

Documents procedures utilizing appropriate forms in the medical record.

May perform delegated functions under the supervision of the physician, e.g. differential diagnosis, use of prescriptive authority and or treatment of a variety of human responses throughout the wellness to illness spectrum according to practice guidelines, protocols or standing orders.

Conducts comprehensive health assessments, identifies normal/abnormal health characteristics, develops treatment plans, initiates appropriate care and continuously evaluates care outcomes.

Orders routine tests as appropriate to the services provided under such orders. Access procedural, radiographic and laboratory reports.

Delivers education to patients and their families. Conducts in-service training and education for clinic and in-house nursing personnel regarding protocol requirements. Acts as liaison with patients, families, physicians, and other personnel.

Participates in the education of other APPs MLP 's in performance of procedures as well as department focused quality improvement projects. Instructs coworkers in allied positions in recording patient information and/or data entry. Performs in a fast-paced emergency care environment.

Education

REQUIRED:

Degree requirements as defined by the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) or Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners (TSBPAE) as required for clinical licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant

Licensure/Certification

REQUIRED:

Written authorization from the Texas Board of Nursing (BON) or Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners (TSBPAE) to function as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant. Related authorization must be consistent with clinical practice area and patient population. Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. MAY BE REQUIRED: Eligible to be granted limited prescriptive authority by the State of Texas.

PREFERRED:

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification as required by patient care area.

This position may be responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of critical infrastructure, as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code and therefore may require routine reviews and screening.
