Full-Time or Part-Time NJ Palliative Care is seeking a skilled and compassionate
Advanced Practice Nurse (APN)
to join our
inpatient palliative care team
in Newark. This role is embedded within a hospital system and provides a vital presence for patients with serious illness by managing symptoms, guiding goals-of-care conversations, and ensuring care aligns with the values of patients and families. This is a unique opportunity to work within a collaborative, mission-driven program focused on comfort, dignity, and continuity of care during the most vulnerable moments in a patient's health journey. Key Responsibilities: Conduct in-hospital consultations and comprehensive patient assessments Provide expert symptom management (pain, breathlessness, fatigue, etc.) Lead and support goals-of-care and advance care planning conversations Collaborate closely with hospitalists, specialists, case managers, and chaplains Assist with discharge planning and continuity of care Prescribe medications and interventions as appropriate within APN scope Document and bill accurately for services rendered Qualifications: Current NJ APN license with prescriptive authority CDS and DEA registrations Minimum of 3 years? experience in palliative care, hospital medicine, oncology, or geriatrics preferred BLS and ACLS certified Strong communication and emotional intelligence Experience working within interdisciplinary teams in hospital settings What We Offer: Competitive compensation with performance incentives Health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits Paid time off and CME support Leadership development opportunities A supportive, collaborative, and compassionate care environment Job Type: Full-time Pay: $125,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) Dental insurance Flexible schedule Health insurance Paid time off Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Medical Specialty: Hospice & Palliative Medicine Ability to Commute: Newark, NJ 07198 (Required) Ability to Relocate: Newark, NJ 07198: Relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: In person
