Summary

Our client is currently seeking individuals for a full-time position as a Mechanical Project Engineer located in the San Diego, CA area. With nearly a century of experience, they prioritize safety and offer industry-leading services including building information modeling (BIM), design/build solutions, sustainable practices, and complex mechanical and industrial system installations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Project estimating (take-off & analysis)
  • Project scheduling (manpower scheduling)
  • Managing RFIs (Requests for Information)
  • Preparing submittal packages
  • Managing flow of contractor-provided submittal data
  • Assisting in data population of forms
  • Preparing project progress billings
  • Technical analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving of HVAC air equipment, piping systems, and HVAC & plumbing equipment

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Basic working knowledge of HVAC & plumbing design and system operation
  • Understanding of commercial & industrial construction sequences
  • Basic knowledge of construction estimating and testing procedures for HVAC systems
  • Familiarity with ASHRAE data & guidelines
  • Proficiency with MS Project, MS Access or other database programs, MS Excel & Word, and internet research
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills for handling and archiving technical data
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Civil, Industrial, or Structural Engineering, or 5+ years industry experience as a Construction Project Engineer
  • Experience with project administration, scheduling, productivity analysis, cost control, and procurement
