Position Overview
We seek applications for a tenure‑track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank. The candidate will be based in the School’s multiple clinical facilities and research labs focusing on ocular disease, ocular biology, and therapeutics. Opportunities exist for cross‑program collaboration within the UC Berkeley campus and external institutions.
Compensation
Salary ranges from $80,800 (Assistant Professor, 9‑month appointment) to $270,000 (Full Professor, 11‑month appointment). Off‑scale and additional pay may be offered for competitive reasons.
Anticipated Start
July 1 2026 or January 1 2027.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications (required)
• Clinical degree (OD, MD, DO, PharmD, DVM, or equivalent) and/or a PhD (or equivalent international degree).
Preferred qualifications
• Research and clinical training. Potential for exceptional basic, clinical, and/or translational research achievements; excellence in teaching in professional (Doctor of Optometry) and graduate (PhD in Vision Science) curricula.
