Base pay range
$70,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
- Oversee K‑12 modern language curriculum for Spanish, French, and Mandarin.
- Lead, mentor, and support language department staff across grades 3–12.
- Teach three sections of Spanish courses for middle or upper school students.
- Conduct regular classroom observations and provide feedback to promote effective teaching practices.
- Assist with the hiring, onboarding, and evaluation of new language staff to ensure high‑quality instruction and team cohesion.
- Lead the review and revision of curriculum to align content with the school’s mission and goals.
- Develop extracurricular opportunities for students such as language immersion trips, guest speakers, and cultural or heritage celebrations.
- Oversee and effectively allocate department budget funding.
- Serve as an advisor for middle or upper school students ensuring student success.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of teaching experience required.
- Previous academic leadership experience.
- Independent school experience preferred, but not required.
- Well‑organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities.
- A desire to be involved in extra‑curricular activities as well as the broader school community.
