This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to manage diverse patient populations in a fast-paced environment.ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluationManage a group of patients safely and effectively in both Med/Surg Tele and higher-acuity float settingsAdminister medications in accordance with UHS policies and standardsEducate patients and families on disease processes, treatments, and health promotionParticipate in shared governance, unit councils, and quality improvement initiativesMaintain compliance with all regulatory and organizational standardsContribute to a positive learning environment for new staff and studentsDemonstrate UHS core values in all interactionsPerform other duties as assignedRequired ExperienceCritical care experience required (must be able to float into higher-acuity units)6 months–3+ years RN experience acceptedStrong competency in:Telemetry interpretationAcute care nursingClinical prioritizationCritical thinking and problem-solvingPatient and family communicationReliability, safety awareness, and adaptability across unitsPreferred ExperiencePrevious acute care or ambulatory care nursing experienceBSN preferredEducationGraduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)Required CertificationsCurrent NY RN licenseBLS AHA
