Electrical Engineer (mid-career)
Join Swanson Rink as an Electrical Engineer in our Denver office. As an electrical engineer you will collaborate with high-profile clients to design power systems for data centers, aviation, and commercial/industrial facilities. You will work with Project Management and BIM staff to develop engineering solutions.

Your Job Responsibilities
Design electrical systems for data centers, aviation, and commercial/industrial facilities
Design power systems, including layout and circuiting of receptacles, miscellaneous equipment, mechanical equipment, and completion of panel schedules
Power design associated with UPS and generator support systems and mechanical systems
Design of electrical one-line diagrams
Conduit routing, layout, and circuiting of receptacles, and completion of panel schedules
Short‑circuit and voltage drop calculations
Fuse and circuit breaker coordination studies
Prepare studies on various electrical systems, identify options and potential solutions, and provide cost comparisons
Develop specifications for lighting and power systems
Review contractor’s shop drawings and submittals
Conduct construction observations
Apply local and national building codes, safety codes, industry standards, and International Building Codes
Travel for client meetings, field surveys, and business travel as needed
Participate in seminars and training events to stay current with industry trends
Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university
Professional Engineer registration or willingness to obtain licensure
Electronic Engineer / EIT certification required
Minimum 2 years’ experience as a consulting engineer
Ability to pass background checks, security screenings, and drug testing as required by clients or Federal contracts
Authorized to work in the United States
Salary range: $80,000 – $110,000, based on experience, knowledge, and skills.
