AHIMA Key Responsibilities: Validate inpatient medical records to confirm accurate DRG assignment Review principal diagnoses, procedures, CCs/MCCs, and DRG shifts Maintain productivity standards of
20 charts per day Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Assigned daily inpatient validation cases by the end client Validate inpatient DRGs at the facility level Review trauma-heavy cases (Level 1 & 2) Work on long-term, ongoing projects (not short-term engagements) Qualifications: AHIMA certification (required) Minimum
5 years of inpatient coding/DRG experience
OR
3+ years of auditing experience Strong proficiency in
MS-DRG and APR-DRG
systems Proven experience validating DRGs for reimbursement accuracy Comfortable discussing DRG shifts, CC/MCC capture, and revenue impact Experience with
EPIC, 3M, and QC Tracker Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
