Broad Function and Scope of the Position The Human Resources Business Partner at Affinity Group serves as a trusted advisor and consultant to regional leadership, promoting alignment between HR initiatives and business objectives. This role plays a pivotal function in providing strategic HR guidance, managing complex employee relations issues, and maintaining legal compliance while fostering a culture of high performance and employee engagement for the region. The business partner collaborates with other regions and advances the alignment of Corporate HR practices, strategies, and initiatives. Effective execution in this role contributes to the company’s strategic objectives, fosters a supportive work environment, and drives the organization’s continued success.

Principal Continuing Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partner/Consultant – Serves as the human resource leader for the assigned regions, becoming a trusted partner to the region's senior leadership team and providing HR guidance and support.

Supports leadership in region-specific organizational development and talent acquisition.

Collaborates with the CPO to support corporate HR practices, strategies, and initiatives across the region.

Business Planning Support – Works with the CPO and regional leadership to support the development of long-term and annual plans for all critical elements of the Human Resources function.

Population of HR-related matters in the region’s annual operating plans.

Performance Management – Provides workforce leaders with day-to-day guidance, coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions, facilitates performance evaluations, and ensures consistency in the process.

Leadership & Development – Works closely with the Director of Learning & Development on all L&D initiatives, identifies talent development needs, and evaluates programs for effectiveness.

Workforce Planning – Offers guidance on regional restructuring, workforce, and succession planning, anticipates talent gaps, and supports promotions and reassignments.

On/Off Boarding – Provides guidance on employee discipline, promotion, and termination, partners with hiring managers to support onboarding, and ensures legal compliance in termination processes.

Legal Compliance/Policies – Maintains in-depth knowledge of employment law/regulations across all supported states and promotes compliance across business areas.

Associate Relations/Support/Engagement – Assists employees with HR inquiries, organizes engagement events, and supports payroll and benefits collaboration.

Project Management/Flexibility – Demonstrates readiness to work on special projects, adapts to evolving business needs.

HR Administration – Conducts exit interviews, maintains organized personnel files, and reports feedback to leadership.

Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is required.

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a Human Resources role, with at least 3 years in a strategic HR business partner or similar role.

Demonstrated experience in employee relations, performance management, and legal compliance.

Proven track record in talent development, workforce planning, and employee relations.

HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is strongly preferred.

Proficiency in using HR technology platforms, including HRIS, HCM, ATS, and LMS eLearning systems.

Working Conditions

Occasional business travel (less than 20%).

Typical office hours Monday through Friday (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.).

Exposure to a fast‑paced, deadline‑oriented environment within a matrixed organization.

Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
