Job Description The RN - Accreditation Consultant conducts systematic, ongoing patient tracers as well as formal and informal system/process audits to assess and provide feedback, education, and consultation on Accreditation/Certification standards compliance to all entities within the organization. In conjunction with the manager, the role facilitates the planning, achievement, and maintenance of a continuous state of survey readiness within the organization.

Responsibilities

Conduct patient‑specific, system, and process audits for all BHI departments/units according to plan.

Identify performance improvements needed for standards compliance.

Research and provide up‑to‑date information and education regarding Accreditation/Certification/CMS standards requirements and survey process.

Facilitate execution of action plans to achieve/maintain accreditation compliance.

Continuously provide education to staff and leaders regarding standards revisions and new Accreditation/Certification requirements.

Compare actual processes described by staff and leaders to what is stated in policy and procedure and to Accrediting Organization/CMS standards to determine compliance level.

Research and deploy available resources/best practices to provide compliance tips for challenging Accrediting Organization/CMS standards.

Qualifications Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)

Minimum Work Experience

5 years acute care/clinical nursing experience (Required)

2 years experience in a supervisory role within an acute‑care setting (Required)

Licenses and Certifications

Registered Nurse licensed in the State of Florida or eligible compact state (Upon Hire Required)

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

Experience/knowledge of Process Improvement fundamentals, CMS standards, and healthcare quality.

Competent in use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and facilitate process improvements.

Demonstrated ability to teach one‑to‑one and in small groups.

Knowledge of the organization’s policies, procedures, and practices.
