Rail/Track Engineer

As a vital member of our team located in Oakland, San Francisco, or San Jose, California, you will design horizontal and vertical track alignments and trackwork components on large rail projects across the country.
Responsibilities You will collaborate with technicians and engineers to create drawings and simulations using industry‑leading software tools such as Microstation, Power InRail, and OpenRail, thereby supporting the overall project goals.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
California Professional Engineer (PE) License or the ability to obtain within 12 months
At least 5 years of professional experience on rail and transit projects
Professional expertise with Microstation, Power InRail, and OpenRail
Knowledge of FRA/DOT, AREMA, SCRRA, and other local railroad criteria
Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to assemble plan sets meeting client expectations
Preferred Qualifications
Professional expertise with AutoCAD Civil 3D
3D modeling experience
Experience on both freight and commuter rail projects

Salary Base salary range: $104,100.00 – $162,650.00. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors such as job‑related skills and experience.
