We have an opportunity within our Inforce TOA/Check Deposit team for an Investment Operations Director. As an Investment Operations Director you will oversee a team of Investment Specialists, Consultants and Principals, and be part of a highly structured, fast‑paced, team‑oriented organization focused on providing quality service and maintaining compliance standards. In this role, as with all roles at MassMutual, you will demonstrate accountability, agility, inclusivity, strong business acumen, courage in challenging situations, and dedication to learning, leadership, resilience and self‑awareness.
The Team The team is comprised of 20+ members with a background in Wealth Management. Roles vary from leads supporting the director, licensed principal roles responsible for more complex functions, and analysts ("processors") who support daily processing of incoming/outgoing transfers (e.g., ACATs, DTC, deliveries, mutual‑fund transfers), physical check deposits and mobile client deposits via our clearing firm National Financial Services. The team interacts directly with advisors, their support staff, compliance, legal and other operational partners. They are high‑functioning, collaborative and motivated to do what is best for the firm, our advisors, their clients and each other. The team also supports our MMLIS India captive team, an extension of the states‑side team.
The Impact
The Investment Operations TOA/Check Deposit Director is expected to have strong business acumen in the securities and wealth‑management space to ensure the team is prepared and educated to support strategic initiatives such as the rollout of new product offerings.
The Director and the team are accountable for maintaining consistent processing service levels and providing timely service to external and internal partners.
The Director is responsible for ensuring the team adheres to firm policies and procedures and, as the regulatory landscape evolves, evaluating current WSPs for necessary changes.
The ideal candidate must demonstrate daily agility and the ability to learn, adapt and implement continuous improvement in support of changing regulatory and competitive landscapes.
Communication and leadership are key. The Director collaborates with the team to communicate and establish clear strategic and personal goals, provides feedback, partners with direct reports in developmental opportunities and does so in an inclusive manner.
The Director supports the strategic vision and growth trajectory of the broker dealer by providing transparent communication, ensuring team readiness, and identifying opportunities to improve ease of doing business.
Champion and support change management.
The Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma
Series 7 and Series 24 licenses required at time of application
5+ years of financial services / investment experience
1+ year of leadership or 1:1 coaching/mentoring experience

5+ years of experience in the financial services field

Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
