Psychiatrist 1 (Children & Youth) or Psychiatrist 2 (Children & Youth) (NY HELPS) New York City Children’s Center, Queens Campus, P27486

Pay Range $270,356.00/yr - $310,022.00/yr (varies based on experience)

Responsibilities

Provide primary psychiatric care to patients.

Respond to urgent or emergency clinical issues.

Collaborate with other health care professionals to achieve treatment goals and ensure continuity and quality of care.

Assess and refer individuals for admission, transfer, discharge, and further treatment.

Review and maintain medical records and documentation consistent with facility, agency, State, and federal guidelines.

Serve as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team.

Qualifications

License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State.

Board certification in child and adolescent psychiatry (ABPN) for Psychiatry 1; certification in psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry for Psychiatry 2.

Completed training program in psychiatry approved by ABPN.

For within State Service: one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Additional Information

Eligible for Psychiatrist Loan Repayment Program up to $120,000.

Supplemental income up to 50% of salary by volunteering for evening, night, and weekend coverage.
