About the Team Builder.io's Fusion engineering team is a fast‑growing team focused on developing the Fusion project, an AI software engineer that enables product managers, designers, and engineers within an organization to contribute seamlessly to your company's codebase and product. The global team innovates ways to accelerate the development of interactive experiences and product features, making product development accessible across the organization.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will…

Partner heavily with Product Managers and Design

to not just build, but help shape and define world‑class product experiences based on technical feasibility and user impact.

Own the full feature cycle , from joining customer calls to identify friction points, to architecting the solution, implementation, testing, and verifying success in production.

Engineer the bridge between intent and execution : build the product that translates a Designer's vision or a PM's requirement into real production code within a customer's codebase. Solve the hard problem of making an inherently rigid, developer‑centric world (Git, CI/CD, code structures) accessible to non‑technical users.

Act as a technical bridge

between the code and the customer. Translate complex customer requirements into scalable technical solutions and shorten the feedback loop between user pain and feature release.

Lead technical decision‑making

for your features, prioritizing speed‑to‑value without sacrificing code quality or long‑term maintainability.

Navigate the complexity of “Code‑as‑Data” : connect the dots between our platform and the customer's diverse technical environments. Build a system that must intelligently navigate, understand, and modify external codebases reliably.

You will thrive in this role if you have…

6+ years of experience

in full‑stack web development with a proven track record of shipping complex products to production.

Deep expertise in React

(or other modern front‑end development framework) and Node.js/TypeScript, with an eye for performance and architectural patterns.

Strong Product Intuition : care about why you are building something as much as how. Comfortable making product micro‑decisions and dealing with ambiguity.

A Customer‑First Mindset : comfortable speaking directly with customers, asking the right questions to uncover the root problem, and owning the resolution.

Cloud Fluency : experience architecting scalable systems on AWS or Google Cloud.

High Agency : don't wait for a ticket to be perfectly defined; seek out the problem, define the solution, and deliver value iteratively.

The items above are a starting point for a conversation, not a hard list of requirements. If this role excites you, we hope you will apply!

The estimated base salary for the Software Engineer role is

$165k-$230k

USD. In addition to salary, total compensation will include meaningful company equity. Ranges may vary for candidates residing outside of the US, and will be discussed with the hiring manager early in the interview process. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors discovered during the interview process, including experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

About Builder.io Builder.io is pioneering the space between design and development, creating a new category of Visual Development Platform that transforms how teams build digital products. Our Visual Copilot technology bridges the gap between Figma designs and production code, enabling teams to build interactive features using natural language while working with their actual code, data, and APIs. Alongside our code generation capabilities, our CMS empowers organizations to skip code generation altogether and publish updates to any live site or app in a couple clicks. Trusted by leading mid‑market to enterprise‑level companies like JCrew, Vimeo, and Anheuser Busch, we're focused on eliminating the traditional bottlenecks between design, development, and content management.

Builder.io is committed to growing an inclusive and diverse team. We are an equal opportunity employer.
