Description We are seeking a talented M&A Tax Principal with private‑equity experience and exceptional technical and relationship‑building skills. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in complex corporate and flow‑through transaction tax structuring, a proven record of leading high‑stakes deals, and a collaborative approach that drives client confidence and deal momentum.

What You Will Do
Advise and influence substantial private‑equity client relationships to achieve functional objectives.
Provide value‑added services that are critical to acquiring and serving private‑equity clients.
Address complex M&A tax matters through innovative and established approaches.
Drive delivery of risk‑focused strategies for private‑equity clients involved in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring transactions.
Network internally and externally to acquire new clients, projects, and revenue.
Leverage Baker Tilly’s matrixed structure to develop and execute growth strategies in coordination with regional and national leaders.
Build your legacy and succession plan through the development of our people.
Represent Baker Tilly as a sought‑after professional through speaking engagements and thought‑leadership writing.
Qualifications
Leadership experience with a record of developing relationships and acting as a value architect.
Experience as a partner or principal at a current firm.
At least fifteen years of private‑equity tax experience on complex domestic and cross‑border transactions (mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings).
Immediate ability to elevate the technical base of team members and strengthen reputation.
Entrepreneurial track record with successful business growth.
Strong client service orientation, commitment to continuous learning, appropriate ethical knowledge, and a sense of urgency for quality and timely delivery.
Technical proficiency that attracts a diverse, complex client base.
CPA or bar‑licensed attorney required; master’s or LLM in taxation desired but not required.
Flexibility to travel nationally as needed.
