Responsibilities and Requirements Develop and teach business analytics, machine learning, or other related courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The expected teaching load is three courses (assistant professor of practice) or four courses (lecturer) per semester.
Perform research activities (publishing peer-reviewed papers, presenting at conferences, etc.) to maintain the AACSB scholarly active requirements.
Help establish industry connections and create opportunities for students and faculty interactions.
Organize student clubs and other extracurricular activities (mentoring students' internships, case competitions, etc.) in operations and analytics.
Participate in the administrative and committee assignments (e.g., assurance of learning and AACSB accreditation, organizing research seminars, etc.) and contribute to the SBU community.
Qualifications Required Qualifications
Be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship
A track record of excellent teaching in undergraduate and/or graduate business analytics or related courses.
A Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) from an accredited program in business analytics-related field (Operations Management, Operations Research, Information Systems, or other related fields) is required for the Professor of Practice position, while a Master's degree from an accredited program in one of the same fields is required for the Lecturer position.
Preferred Qualifications
A track record of excellent teaching business analytics, machine learning, database, operations management, supply chain management, or other related courses in different modalities.
Experience in industry engagement and effectively connecting with diverse industries, fostering partnerships, or collaborating with external stakeholders.
Published and/or potential to publish in peer-reviewed business journals in the use of analytics.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in teaching, research, and service.
