Responsibilities
Treasury
Prepare and consolidate accurate financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements) in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Provide timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial analyses and reports for management and stakeholders.
Conduct in-depth variance analysis, identifying and investigating discrepancies in financial records.
Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring accuracy and proper classification.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Collaborate with the Controller and other departments in developing the annual budget and financial forecasts.
Monitor financial performance against the budget and provide insightful reporting on variances.
Internal Controls and Compliance:
Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Coordinate or assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local accounting and tax regulations, including sales tax filings.
General Ledger and Accounting Operations:
Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including reconciliations and maintenance.
Oversee and support accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
Research and resolve complex accounting issues, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
Process Improvement and System Optimization:
Identify opportunities for process improvement within the accounting department and implement streamlined procedures.
Work closely with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes, especially those involving MAS.
Leverage expertise in Excel (including Macros) to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.
Utilize SQL knowledge to extract, manipulate, and analyze financial data from the accounting system (likely MAS) for reporting and ad-hoc analysis.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
Cost accounting and manufacturing experience is required.
CPA certification preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Prior experience working with MAS accounting software is desirable.
Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions, pivot tables, and Macros for data manipulation and automation.
Strong knowledge of SQL for querying and extracting data from databases.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex financial information to diverse audiences.
Detail-oriented and accurate, with a commitment to maintaining the integrity of financial records.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrates a continuous improvement mentality and drive for career development.
